MRI's are scarry for most of us and this is an idea to make them less.
My wife just had an MRI at a nearby facility and an idea came to me to make the MRI more palitable for many people. My idea applies to 2 of the 3 basic MRI configurations that exist today. Two of the three configuration involve a full or half-tube that encloses your head and some or all of your body. My wife kept here eyes closed from the moment she was moved into the tube to the moment that she was taken out. I sat on the other side near her head and read from a magazine to her. She didn't really hear anything I read since the sound of the MRI is deafening but she heard little bits knowing it was my voice.
My idea: Imagine a curved flat screen TV or display on the top side of the tube. Projecting a movie with captions or some other program made for the experience would be the object. Adjusting the projected image for the close distance and the person's unaided eyesight would be needed but when perfected the 30 minute diagnostic test would be acceptable other than the pain you may be in or other discomfort. Some things can't be fixed by this idea but fear may possibly be resolvable.
I will revisit this later.
